Street Lighting Upgrade - North Canterbury

Project Overview

PJL upgraded ageing street lighting assets for Waimakariri District Council, replacing an old concrete pole with a new steel pole and upgrading a High Pressure Sodium luminaire to a more efficient LED fitting.

Each site was carefully planned around public notification, traffic management and underground services, with hydro-vac used to protect essential power and communication cables. The new steel poles have a minimum 25-year lifespan, while the LED luminaires use over four times less power and require minimal maintenance.
